07 isle of skye
The next postcard is from the Isle of Skye (or as it is called in scottish gaelic: An t-Eilean Sgitheanach). It is the biggest island of Inner Hebrides (second largest in Scotland) and it is famous for its breathtaking landscapes.
I visited the island a year ago, on my way to Outer Hebrides, and I even stayed at a campsite at Sligachan, where the postcard photo was taken. It was truly amazing to wake up in such place, with a view over the Cuillins mountains. Even though the island is very popular with tourists (and I prefer calmer places) it was really easy to find completely empty places, where there is only you, and the incredible nature. Skye is definitely one of my favourite islands, I hope I will go back there soon. Here are some of the pictures from my visit there.
You can read also more about the island here.
The stamp shows thistle, the floral emblem of Scotland.
Big thanks to Winsome for sending this card!
