This next card is also from Greece, from the island of Symi. It was sent by Maili, whose mother visited the island in 2015.
It must be a beautiful place, just have a look how the tourism website advertises this island: "While approaching the port of Symi, one has the overwhelming feeling of entering a perfectly painted image of a scenic traditional village. As a rule, people remain agape and cannot take their eyes off the spectacular sight."
On the other hand, last year there where not only tourists, but mostly refugees who arrived to islands in this region. Maili's mother visited also islands od Rhodes and Kos, and she mentiones that there were boats with refugees arriving from Turkey, and many people living in tents on the islands.
Thank you Maili for sending this card!
