132 yoronjima
One more Japanese island, a tiny one, the southernmost of the Amami archipelago, not far from Okinawa. This card was a surprise from Tia, who went on a trip to Yoron from her home island, Amami.
One of the places worth visiting on Yoron island is the Southern Cross Center, where you can not only learn about the local culture and history, but also climb to the observation deck and get a view over nearby Okinawa and Okinoerabu islands.
When the tide is low, a white strip of sand appears near to the east coast of the island. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, Yurigahama Beach, as it is called, is indeed impressive, with pure white sand, apparently with star-shaped grains. It is said that if you take home as many grains of sand as your age, it will bring you happiness. (Although I am pretty sure, that visiting this lovely beach already makes you happy!)

ReplyDeleteJapończycy mają piękne znaczki z florą i fauną. W swojej kolekcji posiadam ponad 10 znaczków z tej serii. Widzę, że mieszkasz w głodnym kraju:)

DeleteI niestety, od momentu otrzymania tej kartki zdążyłam zmienić miejsce zamieszkania
(na takie gdzie język brzmi mniej egzotycznie ;))
Jaka piękna pocztówka, bo o znaczkach to chyba nawet nie będę wspominała. Uwielbiam wszystko co japońskie, a ich znaczki w większości wręcz ubóstwiam i mogłabym się na nie patrzeć godzinami ;) Co do samej kartki to widok zapiera dech w piersiach. Nie mam jeszcze żadnej japońskiej kartki z Okinawy.
