As you can see my collection of cards from Taiwan is growing bigger and bigger. This beautiful postcard came from the city of Taichung, but shows the Jioufen area in New Taipei. This is yet another, completely different side of Taiwan. We've seen some modern buildings of the capital, and here we have picturesque scenery of a smaller town on top of a mountain.

Chia-Ying wrote in her card, that "it's a must see spot when visiting northern Taiwan". It was once a center of the gold mining industry, nowadays you can walk the old streets there and visit some tea houses and coffee shops (and take lots of amazing pictures!). The town is very popular among tourists, its beautiful scenery was even used as a set for movies (A City of Sadness and Spirited Away).
