129 hong kong island
Hong Kong’s territory comprises the Kowloon peninsula and over 260 islands; we’ve already seen here a card sent from one of them, Cheung Chau, now it’s time for the "main" (but not the largest) island - Hong Kong Island.
It is historically the political and commercial centre of Hong Kong. Phoebe, who sent this card, reminded that the island was a British colony from 1842 to 1997. When the occupation started there were only about 3,000 islanders living in small fishing villages around the island. The British established trading companies to export goods to China, and nowadays the island has over a million inhabitants.
It is also home to some famous sights in Hong Kong: Victoria Peak — mountain oferring beautiful views over the surrounding islands, Ocean Park — one of the two large theme parks in Hong Kong, many historical sites and large shopping centres. // Thank you Phoebe!

Nie spotkałam się jeszcze z taką pocztówką z Hong Kongu, która nie prezentuje wieżowców... Podoba mi się ta, którą otrzymałaś :)
