21 malta

Seven new cards today!
One of them was this pretty card sent from Malta by Martyna and Oskar. It has also a lovely floral stamp, but surprisingly it arrived without any cancellation (stamp from the post office).
The country of Malta comprises 7 islands, but only the 3 largest – Malta, Gozo and Comino, are inhabited. Ancient Greeks and Romans used to know this island as Melita - the island of honey. Also interesting is the national language of the island - Maltese (Malti), which descended from the Arabic dialect that developed in Sicily and later in Malta. It is the only Semitic language written in the Latin script in its standard form.
